Life Sciences ToolSet

VISTECH began developing custom applications with large pharmaceutical firms and clinical research organizations (CROs) in the mid-1990's.  From the start, we leveraged our experiences to expand our development toolkit to include many commonly required processes and functions.

VISTECH's Life Science ToolSet is the foundation for dozens of production applications supporting pharmaceutical business critical functionality like patent tracking, incident reporting, and task management. We recently leveraged the toolset to create ResearchRequestTracker, a unique application that supports entry, categorization, assignment, management, and reporting of information requests and researched responses for legal representatives. It features two major functions to support biological, chemical, or legal information research projects:

Process Management—From the moment a request is entered ResearchRequestTracker manages the information request and response process. The software records updates, logs changes to requests, acts as the sole repository for resulting research and information, and records time associated with the research effort. As the request/response process proceeds, the software manages the process by updating status, keeping assigned resources informed with email alerts and messages, and organizing workflow to assure all activities and results are documented.

Research Documentation & Archive—By using ResearchRequestTracker the entered request, associated process and workflow history, response information, and all supporting documentation are secured in the ResearchRequestTracker database. Since data is saved at each step in the workflow, it can be retrieved at any point in time that could be a direct retrieval by the original requester or researcher, who might need to recite sources or leverage the results in other ways, or the database can grow to be an independent knowledge bank of all research to date, searchable by those with appropriate permissions and leveraged across the organization.

In addition to managing the request, research, and response process, ResearchRequestTracker secures access for both requesters and researchers. Requesters can also mark requests as confidential to further restrict access, and all research is consolidated in a secure database.
